A roadmap for your nationality

Turkish citizenship by investment for Algerian families and investors

Algeria and Türkiye have known each other for centuries, and the Ottoman-era mansions of the Casbah of Algiers still carry that shared story. You can turn this bond into a new door for your family. Turkish citizenship is open to you through a USD 400,000 property purchase or a USD 500,000 investment in funds, a bank deposit or government bonds, with no requirement to live in Türkiye or learn Turkish.

Why Türkiye for Algerian investors

Shared history, familiar culture

The name of Hayreddin Barbarossa is remembered in Algiers and Istanbul alike. Old mosques, long conversations over coffee, generous hospitality and many dishes feel familiar in both countries. Algerian families rarely feel like strangers in Istanbul's historic quarters, where the warmth of the streets feels close to home.

Two shores of one sea

Algeria and Türkiye look out over the same Mediterranean, with a similar climate, table and pace of life. A home in Antalya, Izmir or Bodrum means building a new chapter without leaving the sea you love. Direct flights connect Algeria's major cities with Istanbul in a few hours.

Strong business ties

Turkish companies have worked in Algeria for years in construction, textiles and steel. For Algerian entrepreneurs, Istanbul is a trading base where European, Asian and African markets can be reached from one place. Turkish citizenship makes it easier to run these business relationships with confidence.

Well-established schools for your children

French-speaking families will find long-established French-language schools in Istanbul, as well as universities offering programmes in French. Your spouse and children under 18 can be included in the same application file, so your children can grow up and study in a safe, familiar setting.

Two investment routes to Turkish citizenship

Real estate: USD 400,000

Buy property worth at least USD 400,000 and keep it for 3 years. You can use it as a home for your family or rent it out.

Fund, deposit or bonds: USD 500,000

Invest USD 500,000 in eligible real estate or venture capital funds, a deposit at a bank in Türkiye or government bonds, and keep the investment for 3 years.

The process for Algerian applicants

  1. A first call in your language: goals, route (property or fund), budget and family composition.

  2. Document preparation at home: legalisation and translation.

  3. Bank account in Türkiye and traceable transfer of the investment amount.

  4. Investment execution: property purchase with valuation and title deed, or fund unit purchase with MKK blockage.

  5. Conformity certificate, investor residence permit and the citizenship application.

  6. Decision and passport issuance; family members included in the same file.

Practical notes for Algerian applicants

Algeria is a party to the Hague Apostille Convention (in force since 2026). Birth and marriage certificates and the police clearance certificate are apostilled at home and then translated by a sworn translator in Türkiye.

The investment is sent from Algeria by traceable bank transfer to your account in Türkiye. Keep the bank records and the exchange certificate, because they are part of the application file.

Algeria allows its citizens to hold another citizenship alongside their own.

Documents typically requested

  • Valid passport for each applicant
  • Birth certificates and, for spouses, the marriage certificate
  • Police clearance certificate for the main applicant and spouse
  • Biometric photographs
  • Proof of the investment (title deed and valuation, or fund conformity certificate)
  • Bank records showing the foreign exchange transfer and the exchange certificate
  • Health insurance for the residence permit stage

Frequently asked

Is it easy to travel between Algeria and Türkiye?

Yes. There are direct flights to Istanbul from cities such as Algiers and Oran, and the journey takes a few hours. Once you hold Turkish citizenship, you can come and go as often as you like and plan your life across both countries.

Can my spouse and children become Turkish citizens too?

Yes. Your spouse and children under 18 can be included in the same application file. One investment covers the whole family, and our investor relations team prepares each family member's documents with you, step by step.

Can I sell my investment later?

Yes. You can sell the property, or the fund, deposit or bond investment, after holding it for 3 years. During that time you can use the property yourself or rent it out, and afterwards the choice of what to do with it is entirely yours.

How are documents from Algeria legalised for a Turkish application?

By apostille: Algeria is a party to the Apostille Convention (in force since 2026).
