A roadmap for your nationality

Turkish citizenship by investment for Yemeni investors and families

The story of Istanbul's famous coffee culture begins centuries ago with coffee beans from Yemen. That old friendship between Yemen and Türkiye still lives on at the table, in architecture and in trade. You can turn this bond into a new beginning for your family: apply for Turkish citizenship by investing USD 400,000 in property or USD 500,000 in funds, a bank deposit or government bonds.

Why Türkiye for Yemeni investors

Coffee, a shared story

Coffee reached Istanbul from Yemen in the 16th century and soon gave birth to the city's coffeehouse culture. Turkish coffee is known worldwide today, but its roots reach back to the mountains of Yemen. Yemeni families find a piece of their own heritage in every coffee conversation in Istanbul.

From Sana'a to Istanbul in stone

The Ottoman-era mosques and domes of Sana'a speak the same architectural language as Istanbul's skyline. Stonework, courtyard buildings and days that begin with the call to prayer feel familiar in both cities. This shared past makes it easier for Yemeni families to feel at home in Türkiye.

A base for a merchant tradition

For centuries, Yemeni merchants traded between Arabia, Africa and Asia. To carry that tradition forward, Istanbul is a hub opening onto Europe, Asia and the Middle East at once. As a Turkish citizen you can set up a company here and run your trade from a strong base.

Neighbourhoods where Arabic is heard

Arabic is spoken in many Istanbul districts, and restaurants serving Yemeni and Arab food, schools and associations offering services in Arabic are part of daily life. Yemeni families can keep their language and traditions alive while opening new doors for their children. You will not feel alone.

Two investment routes to Turkish citizenship

Real estate: USD 400,000

Buy property worth at least USD 400,000 and keep it for 3 years. You can use it as a home for your family or rent it out.

Fund, deposit or bonds: USD 500,000

Invest USD 500,000 in eligible real estate or venture capital funds, a deposit at a bank in Türkiye or government bonds, and keep the investment for 3 years.

The process for Yemeni applicants

  1. A first call in your language: goals, route (property or fund), budget and family composition.

  2. Document preparation at home: legalisation and translation.

  3. Bank account in Türkiye and traceable transfer of the investment amount.

  4. Investment execution: property purchase with valuation and title deed, or fund unit purchase with MKK blockage.

  5. Conformity certificate, investor residence permit and the citizenship application.

  6. Decision and passport issuance; family members included in the same file.

Practical notes for Yemeni applicants

Yemen uses consular legalisation for official documents: the issuing authority, the Yemen ministry of foreign affairs and then the Turkish consulate. Our investor relations team coordinates these steps with you.

The investment is sent from Yemen by traceable bank transfer to your account in Türkiye. Keep the bank records and the exchange certificate, because they are part of the application file.

Yemen has its own rules on holding another citizenship. Our investor relations team goes through them with you before you apply, so your plan fits both countries.

Documents typically requested

  • Valid passport for each applicant
  • Birth certificates and, for spouses, the marriage certificate
  • Police clearance certificate for the main applicant and spouse
  • Biometric photographs
  • Proof of the investment (title deed and valuation, or fund conformity certificate)
  • Bank records showing the foreign exchange transfer and the exchange certificate
  • Health insurance for the residence permit stage

Frequently asked

Can I live in Türkiye speaking Arabic?

Yes. Istanbul has a large Arabic-speaking community and many places offering services in Arabic. There is no Turkish language requirement for citizenship, and our investor relations team can communicate with you in Arabic throughout the process.

What is the difference between the property and fund routes?

The property route means a USD 400,000 home you can use or rent out. On the fund route USD 500,000 goes into funds, a deposit or government bonds, with no property to manage. Either way, you keep it for 3 years.

Can my whole family become citizens?

Your spouse and children under 18 can apply by being added to your file, so a single investment covers the whole family's application. Family documents are translated into Turkish by sworn translators, and our team plans that step for you.

How are documents from Yemen legalised for a Turkish application?

By consular legalisation: documents from Yemen are legalised through the consulate.
