A roadmap for your nationality

Turkish citizenship for Ukrainian families: a sunny second home next door

Ukraine and Türkiye are neighbours on the same Black Sea, with centuries of trade and a deep familiarity between them. Today Ukrainian-speaking families live in many Turkish cities, from Antalya to Istanbul. You too can secure Turkish citizenship for your family by buying property worth USD 400,000, or by placing USD 500,000 in an eligible fund, deposit or government bonds. Our investor relations team plans every step with you.

Why Türkiye for Ukrainian investors

Neighbours across the Black Sea

The same sea links Odesa and Istanbul, and the two countries share a long history of trade in agriculture, industry and tourism. That closeness gives you solid, familiar ground for starting a business in Türkiye or growing the commercial ties you already have.

Familiar voices in Antalya

Many Ukrainian families live, work and send their children to school in Antalya, Alanya and Istanbul. Hearing Ukrainian in the street, meeting neighbours who celebrate the same holidays and finding shops with familiar food make settling in far easier.

Sunshine most of the year

On the Mediterranean coast summers are long and winters are mild. A seaside apartment is both a pleasant family home and an ideal choice for a calm retirement later. Fresh air, outdoor living and fresh produce are simply part of daily life.

Europe within a few hours

Direct flights of a few hours link Istanbul with Prague, Vienna, Berlin and many other European capitals. Living in Türkiye, it is easy and practical to visit relatives, travel for business and keep your ties with Europe alive.

Two investment routes to Turkish citizenship

Real estate: USD 400,000

Buy property worth at least USD 400,000 and keep it for 3 years. You can use it as a home for your family or rent it out.

Fund, deposit or bonds: USD 500,000

Invest USD 500,000 in eligible real estate or venture capital funds, a deposit at a bank in Türkiye or government bonds, and keep the investment for 3 years.

Not sure which route fits you? Start your personal roadmap with the form on this page; our investor relations team will go through both routes with you.

The process for Ukrainian applicants

  1. A first call in your language: goals, route (property or fund), budget and family composition.

  2. Document preparation at home: legalisation and translation.

  3. Bank account in Türkiye and traceable transfer of the investment amount.

  4. Investment execution: property purchase with valuation and title deed, or fund unit purchase with MKK blockage.

  5. Conformity certificate, investor residence permit and the citizenship application.

  6. Decision and passport issuance; family members included in the same file.

Practical notes for Ukrainian applicants

Ukraine is a party to the Hague Apostille Convention (in force since 2003). Birth and marriage certificates and the police clearance certificate are apostilled at home and then translated by a sworn translator in Türkiye.

The investment is sent from Ukraine by traceable bank transfer to your account in Türkiye. Keep the bank records and the exchange certificate, because they are part of the application file.

Ukraine has its own rules on holding another citizenship. Our investor relations team goes through them with you before you apply, so your plan fits both countries.

Documents typically requested

  • Valid passport for each applicant
  • Birth certificates and, for spouses, the marriage certificate
  • Police clearance certificate for the main applicant and spouse
  • Biometric photographs
  • Proof of the investment (title deed and valuation, or fund conformity certificate)
  • Bank records showing the foreign exchange transfer and the exchange certificate
  • Health insurance for the residence permit stage

Frequently asked

Can I settle in Antalya with my family?

Of course. As Turkish citizens, you and your family can live in Antalya or any Turkish city you choose, with no time limit. If you prefer, you can also keep your citizenship without living in Türkiye and simply visit.

I don't speak Turkish. Is that a problem?

No. Türkiye does not require Turkish language skills for citizenship by investment. Throughout the process our team communicates with you clearly and explains every document and every step one by one.

Will my children become citizens too?

Yes. Sons and daughters who have not yet turned 18, along with your spouse, go into your file. A single investment brings the whole household into the process at once, and every document is kept together.

How are documents from Ukraine legalised for a Turkish application?

By apostille: Ukraine is a party to the Apostille Convention (in force since 2003).
