A roadmap for your nationality

Turkish citizenship for Kazakh investors: from the steppe to the Mediterranean

Kazakhstan and Türkiye share Turkic roots, and trade between them keeps growing. There are two ways to turn that closeness into lasting citizenship for your family: buy real estate worth at least USD 400,000, or place USD 500,000 in an eligible fund, a bank deposit or government bonds. Whether you set out from Almaty or Astana, our investor relations team stays with you at every step.

Why Türkiye for Kazakhstani investors

Flights from Almaty and Astana

Direct flights link Almaty and Astana with Istanbul. A journey of a few hours takes you to your home, your meetings or your holiday in Türkiye, and you can be back at your desk in Kazakhstan within the same week.

Mediterranean sun after long winters

After Kazakhstan's long, cold winters, many families love spending sunny days on the coast of Antalya, Alanya or Bodrum. A seaside apartment works well both as a holiday home and as a calm place for retirement later on.

Where the Middle Corridor meets

The Middle Corridor, linking Kazakhstan across the Caspian Sea to Türkiye and Europe, keeps expanding trade between the two countries. If you work in logistics, energy or agriculture, Turkish citizenship makes it easier to set up and run a company in Istanbul.

Shared culture, shared university

The Khoja Akhmet Yassawi International Kazakh-Turkish University in the city of Turkistan is a fine example of how close the two peoples are in education. Your children can apply to strong Turkish universities as citizens, within a culture they already recognise.

Two investment routes to Turkish citizenship

Real estate: USD 400,000

Buy property worth at least USD 400,000 and keep it for 3 years. You can use it as a home for your family or rent it out.

Fund, deposit or bonds: USD 500,000

Invest USD 500,000 in eligible real estate or venture capital funds, a deposit at a bank in Türkiye or government bonds, and keep the investment for 3 years.

Not sure which route fits you? Start your personal roadmap with the form on this page; our investor relations team will go through both routes with you.

The process for Kazakhstani applicants

  1. A first call in your language: goals, route (property or fund), budget and family composition.

  2. Document preparation at home: legalisation and translation.

  3. Bank account in Türkiye and traceable transfer of the investment amount.

  4. Investment execution: property purchase with valuation and title deed, or fund unit purchase with MKK blockage.

  5. Conformity certificate, investor residence permit and the citizenship application.

  6. Decision and passport issuance; family members included in the same file.

Practical notes for Kazakhstani applicants

Kazakhstan is a party to the Hague Apostille Convention (in force since 2001). Birth and marriage certificates and the police clearance certificate are apostilled at home and then translated by a sworn translator in Türkiye.

The investment is sent from Kazakhstan by traceable bank transfer to your account in Türkiye. Keep the bank records and the exchange certificate, because they are part of the application file.

Kazakhstan has its own rules on holding another citizenship. Our investor relations team goes through them with you before you apply, so your plan fits both countries.

Documents typically requested

  • Valid passport for each applicant
  • Birth certificates and, for spouses, the marriage certificate
  • Police clearance certificate for the main applicant and spouse
  • Biometric photographs
  • Proof of the investment (title deed and valuation, or fund conformity certificate)
  • Bank records showing the foreign exchange transfer and the exchange certificate
  • Health insurance for the residence permit stage

Frequently asked

Can I spend the winter in Antalya?

Of course. As a Turkish citizen you may stay in Türkiye for as long as you wish, with no time limit. Winters in Antalya and summers in Kazakhstan is an easy rhythm to set up for your whole family.

Can I rent out the apartment?

Yes. You can let your property during the months you are not using it and earn rental income. Once the 3-year holding period ends, selling it or keeping it for your family is entirely your decision.

Must I live in Türkiye?

No. Türkiye does not require you to reside in the country to become a citizen. You can carry on with your life and work in Kazakhstan and visit only when you choose, while our team follows your file for you.

How are documents from Kazakhstan legalised for a Turkish application?

By apostille: Kazakhstan is a party to the Apostille Convention (in force since 2001).
