A roadmap for your nationality
Turkish citizenship for Bahraini investors: cool summers, close all year
For many Bahraini families, Türkiye is the familiar address of summer holidays. The Black Sea highlands, Lake Sapanca and Istanbul's Bosphorus shore welcome guests from the Gulf every year. You can turn those summers into a lasting bond: apply for Turkish citizenship through a USD 400,000 property purchase or a USD 500,000 investment in funds, a bank deposit or government bonds.
- Clarify your investment route together with our team.
- Your documents and process steps are explained for your case.
- Your spouse and children can be included in the application.
Why Türkiye for Bahraini investors
A cool answer to summer
When the Gulf summer peaks, the green Black Sea highlands, the lakeside at Sapanca and the fresh air of Uludağ give your family real room to breathe. A summer in your own home means a familiar door instead of hotel hunting, and children return to the same friends.
A short hop from Manama
Direct flights connect Bahrain and Istanbul, putting you on the Bosphorus after a few hours' journey. Long weekends, Eid holidays or short business trips are all easy. As a Turkish citizen you enter without thinking about visas and stay as long as you like.
A fund route for finance-minded investors
Investors from Bahrain, known for its banking and finance culture, often find the USD 500,000 fund, deposit or government bond route a natural fit. You can apply for citizenship through a financial investment held for 3 years, with no property to manage.
City life on the Bosphorus
Istanbul offers something for every generation: shopping streets, restaurants overlooking the Bosphorus, museums and long-established universities. Halal dining, mosques and Arabic-speaking services are easy to find in many neighbourhoods. It is a city ready for both holidays and everyday life.
Two investment routes to Turkish citizenship
Real estate: USD 400,000
Buy property worth at least USD 400,000 and keep it for 3 years. You can use it as a home for your family or rent it out.
Fund, deposit or bonds: USD 500,000
Invest USD 500,000 in eligible real estate or venture capital funds, a deposit at a bank in Türkiye or government bonds, and keep the investment for 3 years.
The process for Bahraini applicants
A first call in your language: goals, route (property or fund), budget and family composition.
Document preparation at home: legalisation and translation.
Bank account in Türkiye and traceable transfer of the investment amount.
Investment execution: property purchase with valuation and title deed, or fund unit purchase with MKK blockage.
Conformity certificate, investor residence permit and the citizenship application.
Decision and passport issuance; family members included in the same file.
Practical notes for Bahraini applicants
Bahrain is a party to the Hague Apostille Convention (in force since 2013). Birth and marriage certificates and the police clearance certificate are apostilled at home and then translated by a sworn translator in Türkiye.
The investment is sent from Bahrain by traceable bank transfer to your account in Türkiye. Keep the bank records and the exchange certificate, because they are part of the application file.
Bahrain has its own rules on holding another citizenship. Our investor relations team goes through them with you before you apply, so your plan fits both countries.
Documents typically requested
- Valid passport for each applicant
- Birth certificates and, for spouses, the marriage certificate
- Police clearance certificate for the main applicant and spouse
- Biometric photographs
- Proof of the investment (title deed and valuation, or fund conformity certificate)
- Bank records showing the foreign exchange transfer and the exchange certificate
- Health insurance for the residence permit stage
Frequently asked
Can I stay in the home myself during summer?
Yes. The property you buy for citizenship is yours: you can use it with family in summer and rent it out while you are away. The only condition is holding it for 3 years; after that, selling or keeping it is your call.
How does the fund route work?
USD 500,000 is placed in eligible investment funds, a deposit at a bank in Türkiye or government bonds, and held for 3 years. Our investor relations team compares these options with you so we can choose the one that fits you best.
Can my spouse and children be added to the application?
Yes. Your spouse and children under 18 can apply in the same file, so one investment brings the whole family into the application. Each family member's documents are prepared together with our team.
How are documents from Bahrain legalised for a Turkish application?
By apostille: Bahrain is a party to the Apostille Convention (in force since 2013).
